For centuries, scientists have pondered the question of how the Egyptian pyramids were built. By any standard, ancient Egypt was a civilization that had advanced beyond others of the time in science, engineering and technology. But the pyramids on the Giza plateau, which were constructed more than two centuries ago, have baffled archeologists. Despite being advanced for their time, the Egyptian’s construction of the pyramids seems to defy all logical explanations as to what driving force was able to produce such wonders of the ancient world. Many theories, ranging from space aliens to divine intervention to magic, have been proposed, but the mystery remains unsolved. While the methods used are still debated, it is generally agreed that Pharaoh Khufu's royal architect Hemiunu was the mastermind of the Great pyramid of Giza.
